Life after stroke is full of challenges. People who have suffered a stroke can often lose physical and cognitive abilities and technology can play a significant role in helping people who have been left with a disability to cope with living on their own, helping them to maintain their independence.

Caring for somebody who is recovering from a stroke can be physically and emotionally draining. When a loved one experiences a stroke it affects everyone who cares about them and it may mean that family or friends are thrust into a role that they weren’t prepared for.

Technology such as environmental or home control units, panic alarms, health monitors and medication reminders and dispensers can be unobtrusive, helpful resources to both those who have had a stroke and their carers.
