If you’re becoming concerned that a parent or loved one is finding it increasingly difficult to manage on their own because of memory loss, it can be a big help to know just how they are coping at home from day to day. Many people with memory problems, including those who have been officially diagnosed as having Alzheimer’s or some other form of dementia, can live in their own home and familiar environments with remarkable ability – but of course you need to know for sure.
Just Checking uses small, wireless sensors that record a person’s movements around their home. The data collected by the sensors is sent by the controller unit (via the mobile phone network) to a web-server. Family members are then able to log on to a secure website to view the chart of their loved ones activity.
The system is simple to install, with no specialist installation required. There is no need for broadband, just a simple power socket. Just Checking is not an alarm system, and there are no video cameras.
The system consists of two elements, the kit and the web-service subscription. The kit includes 4 movement sensors, 2 door sensors, controller unit, power supply for the controller unit and Velcro pads to install the sensors. The web-service subscription is password protected and allows multiple users to log on, it includes all mobile network charges and replacement batteries for the sensors (when the batteries need replacing you will be sent an automatic reminder and new batteries will be despatched).

Once you place an order, your web-service access will be set up. Your email will be your user name and the password will be emailed to you. You can also provide other family members’ email addresses if you would like them to access the charts.
A member of the team will contact you to organise any recurring monthly or annual payments that may be required.
