Full Description
A constant fridge temperature is vital to ensure food inside is safe to eat. The elderly are particularly at risk from salmonella, so knowing whether food has been subjected to higher temperatures whilst in the fridge could help reduce risk. Equally, knowing that the fridge door has been opened gives some confidence that people who live independently are eating regularly.
Relatives and carers are able to monitor how many times a day the fridge door is being opened and build up a profile ensuring early detection of possible malnutrition or dehydration. The temperature detector is low cost, and battery operated that displays the current, minimum and maximum temperatures (in C or F) recorded in a fridge until reset. Small, discrete and simple to install, it also counts the number of times the fridge door is opened to give visual feedback.
Featuring touch sensitive controls, these battery powered extreme temperature detectors continuously monitor temperature using an in built sensor. On demand, they show the current and min/max temperatures recorded. A light and heat detection sensor counts the number of times the door has been opened and displays this count and temperature until cleared.
